Domaine de Terrebrune Bandol Rouge

The Bandol Rouge is composed of 85% Mourvèdre, 10% Grenache and 5% Cinsault and grown on soils of limestone pebbles in brown clay, limestone and marl. The underground cellar allows for gentle crushing by gravity followed by a delicate pneumatic press. Juice is fermented in stainless steel. Wine ages in oak foudres of 50-60 litres for 18 months, this long period aids stabilization and natural clarification. Wines are rested for 12 months in bottle prior to release. A complex nose of opulent Mourvèdre fruit and a whisper of animal/barnyard and turned earth. On the palate fleshy raspberry melds with tea-leaf and currants around a core of chewy tannins. Potential ageing of up to 30 years.
