An intense, deeply flavoured 40 year old Tawny, with a massive bouquet suggesting vanilla, oak and honey, and a mouthful of very complex flavours of dried fruits, spices, and nuts. As the wine unfolds smoothly and develops in the mouth, one discovers a superb balance of wood ageing and vibrancy, characteristic of the Sandeman Tawny Portos. "Rich, warm, roasted flavours. The palate offers an intriguing combination of rich intensity with an elegant balance. Elegance really is the hallmark of these three blended tawnies. A touch more power than the 30 year old. There are few more iconic images in the world of wine than the ‘Don’, the logo created for the Sandeman family in 1928 by George Massiot Brown. The cape was modelled on the attire worn by students of the University of Porto, while the sombrero was a nod to the family’s presence in Jerez.
