The vineyards of Chile stretch across 870 miles (1,400km) from the north of the country down to south and as a result there is a huge variety of climates and geology. Most of the wine regions are in valleys that are either close to the coast, receiving cooling pacific breezes, or are in the foothills of the Andes, where the altitude does a similar cooling job. The wines from Chile tend to be fruit-forward, easy drinking and offer fantastic value for money to consumers.
