South Downs Cellars - Wine School Date: Thursday 1st October, Thursday 8th October, Thursday 15th October Join us for three exceptional wine tasting evenings, exploring aspects of viticulture, winemaking and wine tasting for all to enjoy. Come along and enjoy six wines per session curated from our shelves showcasing the premise of each session's theme. The sessions are a great way to learn more about the fascinating world of wine, and aim to enhance your enjoyment, courtesy of our friendly expert team. Each evening can be attended as a fun, on-off session, but we have also designed this series to form a short course. Aimed at wine lovers who are keen to understand more about why wines taste a certain way, and what influences their style and flavour. South Downs Cellars Wine School - Festive Food & Wine Pairing Date: Friday 4th December Two hours, six wines and festive bites on cocktail sticks. Each pairing is pared back to a single mouthful, so you can isolate the flavours and see why they work. We gebin with the classics - smoked salmon, glazed ham, roast turkey with cranberry, spiced nuts and mince pies. Along the way, we explore how sweetness, salt, acidity and bitterness are perceived on the palate, and how wine can cleanse, amplify or soften what we taste.
