Greece has a long and storied history with wine and wine culture. In ancient times they gave us the god of wine Dionysus, whilst in the modern day they have given us some ‘new’ classic grape varieties such as Assyrtiko (similar to Albarino) and Xinomavro (similar to Nebbiolo, Barolo’s grape).
