Ashton Bitter & Bramley Cider, Ross on Wye Cider & Perry Co
Description
In October 2020 we experimented by pressing three barrels of Ashton Bitter each co-fermented with a different sharp apple variety. This trio showcases the importance of apple choices; how even an apple as powerful and astringent as Ashton Bitter will perform different dances with different partners. Each bottle is similar but ultimately unique; each difference subtle and delicate. The joy of pure juice cidermaking is that we work in these tiny degrees of variance and it gives us limitless possibility.

Producer Details
The Johnson family have been pressing apples and pears at Broome Farm since the 1930s. Today our natural cider and perry is produced in the same traditional way in the unique soil and climate of Herefordshire. The cidermaking is pure and simple, using only whole juice, and allowing natural fermentation.
Cidermaking on Broome Farm is more than business; it is a way of life, and a celebration of the tradition of cider. Into every batch of cider they produce goes a heartfelt belief in the superiority of a natural product over more processed commercial drinks. These natural cider and perry are made from pure apple and pear juice, pressedthemselves, mainly from their own orchards.
