Barolo, Prunotto
Description
This is a very pleasing wine that captures the early appeal of the year while maintaining a fine sense of balance. Sweet cherry, plum, herb, tobacco and licorice add lovely shades of nuance on the mid-weight finish supported by just enough acidity to provide balance.

Producer Details
The current owners, the Antinoris of Tuscany, bought and extended the Prunotto holdings in the 1990’s, including plots in the outstanding Bric Turot and Bussia vineyards. The style is modern without being exaggerated: freshness of aroma and approachability of structure are viewed as positives, but copious new oak is not.
