Cubed Double Dark Mild, Beak Brewery

Cubed Double Dark Mild

Description

When London brewing legends @boxcar_brewery closed their doors three years ago, a collective sigh rippled through the UK brewing scene. One of the country’s finest independent producers was gone. But all was not lost. Last month, we coaxed former head brewer Sam Dickison out of retirement to help us brew CUBED, a one-off re-release of Boxcar’s iconic Dark Mild. Built on the same beautifully complex roasted malt bill, but dialled up to a higher ABV, this is a proper winter warmer: creamy and comforting, with notes of plum, raisins, bourbon and fresh coffee.

Producer Details

Beak are a small independent brewery and taproom in the historic brewing town of Lewes. They love making everything from hop-forward IPAs and best bitters to saisons and imperial stouts. Beak also have a mixed fermentation project centered around a 5,000 litre oak foudre, which they use to create beers that showcase ingredients from the surrounding South Downs National Park, including native hops, wild yeast strains and grain grown just down the road.
