Description
Maris is one of the most forward-looking producers in the world, named a “sustainability hero” by Jancis Robinson MW and awarded a ‘Green Emblem’ by the Wine Advocate. It was the first European vineyard to receive the B Corporation certification, an incredibly rigorous sustainability award that is only held by 34 wineries worldwide today. Maris boasts a world-first carbon-negative winery constructed from hemp bricks, while the vineyards are hand-harvested and tilled by a horse-drawn plough. Sales of their wine support local wildlife and biodiversity initiatives such as L’Aspas and La Masion e L’Abeille, and they have even made headlines for shipping wine to the USA by sailboat!
