Motueka Saison, Simple Things Fermentations

Motueka Saison

Description

A blonde ale brewed with whole cone Ernest hops and fermented with an expressive Belgian yeast strain, giving rise to a deliciously fruity character with big citrus and tropical notes alongside hints of clove and black pepper spice.

This is a classic European beer style that’s associated with the daily ‘liquid bread’ ration of the Trappist monks and isn’t often seen outside of their abbeys. Pours a pale yellow straw colour with lively carbonation and a dense white foam. There’s no shortage of the characteristic bubblegum aroma to compliment the bready malt but the esters don’t overwhelm and it’s a well rounded, refined affair. Crisp, light and easy drinking, moderately bitter with a dry finish.

Producer Details

A small independent brewery based in Glasgow's Southside, established 2019. They value quality, tradition, innovation, and doing things a bit differently.

Simple Things is about brewing beer with a sense of place, exploring beer styles that aren't always easy to find and using ingredients that extend the flavour spectrum beyond current trends. The beers are often modern takes on traditional styles, or contemporary styles with a twist.
