Description
A blend of 90% Prugnolo Gentile (One of many synonyms of Sangiovese, this one being the local name used in the town of Montepulciano), 10% Merlot. Intensely ruby red in colour. The nose combines notes of fresh red fruit with pleasant hints of vanilla. The palate is well balanced, supple, and remarkable for its silky tannins and pleasurable freshness. It has a distinctive lengthy finish.

With its warmer climate and local variant of Sangiovese – Prugnolo – Vino Nobile offers a richer, headier experience than Chianti to the north. The wines have been made for at least 1,200 years; Antinori joined the party in typically impressive style in 1990. The La Braccesca estate straddles Vino Nobile and the neighbouring appellation, Cortona.
