Its proximity to Germanic culture is reflected in its producers, with many using the Schloss instead of Castilio in their name, and its choice of grapes, with Riesling and Gewurztraminer both commonly found planted alongside the more familiar Pinot Grigio and indigenous grapes like the red skinned Lagrein.
