Mosel Wine
The wines of the Mosel are synonymous with Riesling, which dominates this region. The steep slate covered slopes, especially those close to the moderating influence of the river Mosel, create the perfect landscape to moderate the colder influences of the region's latitude. It is one of the most northerly wine regions in Europe and historically the grapes often struggled to ripen fully but today, thanks to climate change, this is no longer really a problem.
