Oregon has built a reputation for producing outstanding, cool climate pinot noirs, particularly in the Willamette Valley. These wines are known for being softer and more fruity than those found in Burgundy but earthier than many other Pinot Noir growing regions around the world. This has driven demand for these world class light bodied reds, which is reflected by the prices that they can now command.
