Priorat Wine
Set high in the hills to the west of Barcelona is the wine region of Priorat. The region is relatively young and was not recognised as a high quality wine region until the 1990s. Today it is seen as a modern classic, using Garnacha (aka Grenache) and Carinena (aka Carignan) to produce full bodied intense reds with plenty of minerality and incredible depth. .
