Santorini Wine
The volcanic isle of Santorini has a long and storied history of winemaking dating back to ancient times. The most important grape variety found here is Assyrtiko, which is grown on nest like vines that are trained low to the ground to avoid damage from the high wind speeds that can batter the island. Santorini is also famous for its rich, dark Vin Santo sweet wines.
