Swartland Wine

Swartland was once a grape growing area rather than a wine making region, with most harvests being sold to Co-ops. A new generation of ambitious winemakers has changed this over the last few decades and now it is respected as a serious wine region. Chenin Blanc is the key white grape here, with old bush vines still in abundance, while Syrah, Cabernet and Pinotage make up most of the red wine production.
