Valle Central Wine
The Valle Central is made up of 4 subregions: The Maipo, Rapel, Curico and Maule valleys. These valleys make up the heart of the main winemaking regions of Chile. In the eastern half of the valley cool breezes come down from the Andes at night and help cool the grapes, enabling them to retain their freshness. In the Western side of the valley the onshore breezes from the Pacific Ocean play a similar role.
