Vinho Verde Wine
Vinho Verde is Portugal’s most famous white wine appellation, situated in the north of the country near the Spanish border. The name literally translates as ‘green wine’ but is more accurately translated to mean ‘young wine’ as the wines here were traditionally released soon after bottling. The wines often have a slight spritz as a result of either a slight re-fermentation in the bottle or intentional addition of CO2.
