Gevrey-Chambertin Domaine Henri Rebourseau
Description
The monks of Langres long owned this vineyard. A land register from 1744 mentions the name of the locality, "en La survie" or "survival," now "Sylvie." Located in the middle part of the alluvial fan, this area received clay-limestone colluvium, very favorable to vine cultivation. It is, in fact, a plot that may have been planted as early as the Gallo-Roman period. Its soil is often rich and deep.
The estate's plot is located in the extreme south of the climate zone. Sheltered from the north by a small orchard, its south-facing rows guarantee vigorous ripening.
Sylvie produces a Gevrey-Chambertin with a garnet color and a deep carmine hue, sometimes black cherry. Pronounced red fruit aromas reminiscent of Royal Ann cherry.
