From the slopes of the Sierra de Cantabria, Macán Clásico reflects the heritage of Rioja’s Sonsierra region, a terroir with centuries of winemaking tradition. The grapes come from plots with alkaline sandy-clay soils. The 2021 vintage, noted for its outstanding quality, produced fresh, healthy, juicy grapes with crisp skins. For the second consecutive year, a field blend with Garnacha grapes was incorporated, further enhancing the wine’s complexity. Aged for 12 months in barrel and 18 months in bottle, Macán Clásico 2021 reveals a lively, fresh, and refined profile, showcasing ripe red fruit, vibrant acidity, and a harmonious balance. Its well-defined style makes it approachable now, with the potential to develop further over 15 years.
