Description
Alión comes from carefully selected terroirs located in the very best areas of the Ribera del Duero DO region. The soils complement each other, and allied with the same winemaking process used in Vega Sicilia, they have produced wines with a firm structure.
Alión 2021 exudes youthful vibrancy. Aged for 12 months in barrel, concrete, and oak vats, followed by 18 months in bottle, the
result is a harmonious and refined wine. While it will truly begin to shine in a few years, Alión 2021 has the potential to evolve
gracefully over the next 10-15 years. This vintage exemplifies balance, silkiness, and depth, making it equally compelling for
immediate enjoyment or cellaring.

Alión is Vega Sicilia’s sister estate in Ribera del Duero. The two bodegas are just six miles apart, but Alión’s vineyards are to be found in several of the DO’s best locations. On these diverse soils, however, is planted a single variety: Tempranillo. This is handled gently in the winery, giving a naturally concentrated wine that is fruit-forward and accessible in youth – a great introduction to the Vega Sicilia interpretation of Ribera del Duero.
