Saint Veran, Domaine Perraud

Saint Veran

Description

Produced from what the Perraud's call 'young vines' - 20-25 years old Chardonnay vines - this crisp, dry white is both full-bodied and yet with a mineral edge, which balances the richness of the Chardonnay.

Producer Details

In 2005, a 24-year-old Jean-Christophe Perraud founded Domaine Perraud and began making wine from his family's organic vineyards in and around Mâcon and Saint-Véran. Until then, the family had sold their fruit from these 30-hectarres of vines to local co-operatives. Domaine Perraud is a fine example of a young producer striking out on their own, with the family’s vineyards, to create what will undoubtedly become one of the Mâconnais’ most respected domaines.
