Abruzzo Wine

Abruzzo stretches from the Apennine Mountains to the Adriatic Coast. 80% of the wine here is made by Co-Ops and whilst it was known historically for producing bulk wines a new generation of winemakers is focusing on quality over quantity. The most important wines are Montepulciano d'Abruzzo for reds (not to be confused with Vino Nobile di Montepulciano in Tuscany) and Trebbiano d'Abruzzo for white wines.
