Marlborough Wine

Marlborough is by far and away the most famous of New Zealand’s wine regions and is almost synonymous with the Sauvignon Blanc grape. It is not just the most famous but also the largest grape growing region, accounting for almost 70% of the country’s vineyards. Although the first vines were planted here in 1873 it was not until 100 years later that a wine making industry began to emerge here and within 3 decades it had built a reputation for producing world class wines.
