Sicily Wine
The Island of Sicily is Italy’s largest wine region and has over 65 indigenous grape varieties, including Grillo, Nero d’Avola, Catarratto, Carricante, Nerello Mascalese, and Frappato. The western end of the Island is home to the fortified Marsala wines, which are a treat for Sherry fans. On the Eastern side of the Island is Mount Etna, whose slopes are home to vineyards planted as high as 1200m above sea level.
