Bordeaux Wine

Every second that ticks by, another 20 bottles of Bordeaux are sold worldwide. Nearly 90% of wine made here is red, although sparkling, white and sweet wines are all also made. The main grape varieties are Cabernet Sauvignon, particularly on the Left Bank of the river Gironde, and Merlot, which is the most planted variety in the region. These two grapes are often blended with a mix of Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec to create a blend that has been copied in many other wine regions worldwide.
